I agree. raccoons are mainly just a nuisance, & easily disposed of.
There's mountain lions here. They take pets all the time, kill sheep, and even attacked horses.
One of my sweetest dogs (55lbs) was taken by one, right over the yard fence :*(
I hate them.
They watch the routines of an area and, with their immense travel patterns, keep returning for that one opportunity to grab something.
You can't hunt them, so the the deer population & quality is now pathetic.
Seriously, a racoon would be a welcome guest, just the other week I had a juvenile black bear in my back yard. I have wolves that rome the area, coyotes, bobcats, lions, even the rare grizzly (THAT is an animal you don't **** with). It's getting really annoying, lately I've had 3 elk killed on my property this year alone. Nothing but the innards eaten, the rest left and of course fish and wildlife won't let anyone remove the kills so it just brings more scavengers. I've had more pets than I care to remember "disappear". Thankfully we have some awesome gun laws up here so I got my Arsenal sgl rockin a 100rnd chinese drum ready and waiting.
