Rainbow cichlids breeding size?

Good morning,

I was wondering if anyone had some good information on the size rainbow cichlids will start to pair off and breed? I have 9 and some are just over 2 inches now. They have not really started to color up or anything but i was wondering so I would know when to keep a good look out.
