  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh yea and I never tried lifegard filters because I heard it was a pita to get the filter in and out of the filter body.

Here are a couple photos of one of my setups:

Ocean-clear canisters have more options than the nu-clear canisters(like the bead filter canister, and the uv canister) and they cost less than the nu-clear canisters, but the nu-clear canisters are more user friendly because of the way you close and lock the canister.

Yeah I saw on some sites where they have a model that is mostly for bio and mech and was thinking of getting that and another for strictly mech ( sorry don't know the model numbers).

Yeah people were saying some other things about the pentair that's making me think otherwise of them.

Thanks! Yup definetly like how the nuclears look compared to the ocean clears and by means of "secured top". Btw how big is this setup? Looks huge!

We use Pentair Rainbow RTL 25 spa filters for mechanical filtration on our 300 gallon tank. Love them. Going with RTL 100s on our big system.

They work best if you have a separate filtration room. They are top loading so would not work under a stand

Yeah I donk think it would work with my app then because I planning on putting the filter in the stand. I think I got like maybe 30" clearance under the stand.
