Rainbow Lobsters: Toxic or Not?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's no wonder. Lobsters have been aquacultured for decades for seeding collection areas all over the northeast coast. Aquaculture has altered mortality rates immensely (nature=~2%/aquaculture=~80% survival rate). Young lobsters are released as 'walkers' instead of free-swimming larvae. All this means that there are more lobsters in their ranges and this means that more color variants can survive to be found in traps as sub-adults or adults.

Speaking of oddball lobsters, ...how about a half and half color morph that's also a hermaphrodite?

^ lol @ half-assed cook job!

That's a cool crab! I want one in my fish tank! ....I will name him Luigi the Lobster! How are they at getting along with clownfish? lol

What color do they turn when they are cooked? A quick google search looked like black eyes. Couldn't see the leg joints well...

The eye stalks cook to the same red color as the carapace but, the eyeballs get cloudy.

And, I can't imagine how to get a perfectly straight transition between both sides in a roiling pot of boiling water.
