Hi everyone, I'm kinda new here, great site you got going

I live in Canada, and at my lfs there is beautiful 3'' rainbow snakehead for sale. I have a 29g aquarium with Penguin 100 & 150 Bio-Wheels on it (50 gallons of filtration total). The tank is 30'' long, 12'' wide, and 18'' tall.

Can I keep a snakehead in my aquarium, and if so I'm a little confused on their tempurature preference, some places say above 80, some say below 70 Farenhiet.

Your tank will be fine for one, and the temp is around 72f, atleast thats what i keep mine at!

Sorry if this going to be a disappointment, snakehead is illegal to keep in Canada. The one that you saw in lfs, probably a smuggle fish that got into Canada

They are legal in some provinces

I looked into it. I live in British Columbia to be exact, and I'm pretty sure they're not illegal here.

I did see that, but when I lowered my temp to 72, my fish started acting sluggish and odd. When I raised the temp back up to 74, he started being active again. I figured maybe since it's so young he likes it a bit warmer but I wasn't sure. So my temp should go down to 68F?

My snakehead has darkened his colours and hides beneath a large peice of driftwood, so far he hasnt accepted any foods since I got him yesterday. I've tried small earthworms and pellets. Maybe he's just a little ticked off after being moved from the lfs or what? He's not skittish at all really, he allows my hand to pretty much touch his face.

hi there try feeding small feeder fish, i dont think it will eat pellets but get rosie reds not goldfish, or even better are guppys i think they had some there(did you get it from king ed pets?)if you did are its colors better then when it was in the store? and i think they like a higher temp like 80 all the ones ive had did but they were redlines and some others not dwarfs, and make sure you have a good cover ive lost most of mine to jumping and some from vary small holes
