Thank you for the replies, when i lowered the temp to 72 and shut off the light, he came to life! I pressed a cube of freeze dried tubifex worms on the glass and he pigged out and his colours were very pretty. I have sealed off the tank with netting, every single little crack and hole. They should invent a tank cover for especially jumpy fish like arowana and snakeheads.
