Rainbow Snakeheads...

Can anyone tell me if a channa bleheri and a channa sp. assam are the same fish. Just bought 6 "rainbow SH's". They are so cute. I just want to know if these are two variations of the bleheri, or if they are both the same fish.

They are not.

They do look very simalar though. There are some differences however, one is a mouth brooder the other is not, if you see them next to eack other you could see a difference.

Im gonna take a long shot on this one but I think it has to do with rainsing their young. A "mouth brooder" holds the eggs or fry it its mouth. Man, I hope thats right...

if a channa bleheri is what jelly has as an avatar, i've had one... i had no success with it whatsoever. that thing was miserable so I brought him back to the store after 3 escapes through the top of my aquaclear filter. beautiful fish... i wish i had been more experienced when i had him. how big do they get?

Everyone says you can tell the differences in bleheri if ones more colourful ...bigger ext... But i have 5 on them and really they are all colourful with different designs...they are about 3 inchs each maybe 3.5 , will the colours come out more as they get bigger..?
