In Japan you eat them raw as sashimi. or you can make koi miso soup.
koi meaning the carp..not the expensive pretty ones.

I think it is well documented that the introduction of trout as game fish has had an impact in every place it is done. It's the old question of what we want, and what is good for the economy vs. what is appropriate for native conservation. Trout fishing is great, but is it worth wiping out a native species to have them?

You could say the same for Large/Small mouth bass. Almost every state has large and smallmouth bass whether native or introduced. They eat anything that moves and will wipe out the smaller species of fish such as the killis.
