Rainwater runoff in ponds

and the amount of poop on the roof. I've found bird, cat, and squirrel poo on my roof. possibly some raccoon.

So its probably going to be best to go ahead and take down and move the pond :banghead:

Hello; Some years ago (1970's) folks were trying to collect rainwater from roofs. One fellow had devised a mechanical gate. As I recall it was a diverter with a container attached. The gutter fed rain into the normal roof drain untill the container filled up. The weight of the water in the container would eventually move the diverter and direct the flow into storage tubs. The diverter container had a hole in the bottom to allow the water to drain out and allow the diverter to move back into the normal position. The hole also kept the diverter from moving during light rains. Only a rain with enough volume to have washed the roof fairly clean would be diverted into the tubs after a time. The best I recall is that gravity was used to both open and close the diverter.
 
No I wouldn't worry about it, as many man made ponds actually rely solely on run off to fill and maintain levels.
