He took some minnows tonight I netted. Wow....like a crappie on steroids. Their mouth hinges and opens like a crappie but they are much quicker in the short spurt to the prey. Like a cross between SM and crappie. He is also dominating the LE's. Not as mean but changed the dynamics of who's in charge.

Around 6in. It has really come out of his shell and greets me wagging it's tail for food. It has taken a few flakes and spit some pellets so I'm hopeful it makes it through winter on pellets. The WM started chasing the LE (5.5in) around after live feedings but not near as aggressive as the other big LE. I had to remove the other big LE. It killed my crappie and a couple LE's.

I threw in some feeder minnows and mixed sunfish and these 2 GSF survived. They are the toughest and fastest growing of all the sunfish I've kept. They know how to stay out of the way and hit the food fast.
