Hi guys has anyone personally raised Senegal Fry? I have been able to get them to just under 1 cm and they start dying off. I have been raising them on micro-worms. Where am I going wrong? I am on my second batch now. Initially I think water changes every second day were not sufficient so this time I plan to do water changes daily to try to maintain water quality. I run a large sponge filter powered by air pump and a large air stone. Tank is 20 litres or so. Please give me any advice you have regarding tank conditions and requirements to successfully raise some of these guys. Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

So far I have been going off various articles on the net and on our forum but I really need first hand advice from someone who has experience with raising these Senegal fry

Tbh I had the same experience twice like yourself. Don't give up and try different things maybe other foods.

Did you have any fry survive? I don't know if its food related or water level, temperature, water quality etc. So many factors lol. It could even be the food source the micro-worms are grown in? For example I could try culture the worms in potato instead of oatmeal.

That could be possible about the Oatmeal medium I've always scrape from the side of container. Maybe it is the minerals in our tap water.

Do you think the water is too hard?

Why not try baby brine Shrimp? They are pretty much the best fry food there is and will eventually sink. Maybe oxygenation is important too?

It could be everything you have stated. Someone just has to figure it out including myself.
