I said Ram eye, not Ram air for all you wise ass's out there that like to work on cars ;)

My one ram I noticed last night has one of his eyes bulging out the side of his head, almost like those ugly goldfish that they sell kinda like this guy on the left...

What is it?!? Is it contagious to my other Rams and Demasoni? Should I put him into a seperate tank or is he just deformed? :help2:

:feedback:

Quick, get that fish outa there like it was on a RAM JET! Its what is known as Pop eye....a rather disturbin and unfortunate disease. I don't know really much about it, although it is treatable. I don't think its fatal, but I believe it is contageous. What happens is the eye continues to swell until...POP GOES THE EYE BALL! Kind like Pop Goes the Weasel except different. Unless you wanna have a lotta eyeless lookin freaks I suggest you either get it outa there pronto.... or get some Treatment for it!

Okay everyone, thanks for your help! I took him out of my tank and have him in a smaller one, he's still living but not too healthy-like :( I don't want him to live a hard life, how do you painlessly kill a fish?? :(

Water changes, Salt and light meds, with no stress and hopefully it can pull out of it..

I have learned from experience, pop-eye can be directly related to high nitrates. I learned this on my first attempt at a SW tank, as my clown fish got horrible pop-eye from high nitrates.

Keep your water quality pristine and do anything you can to alleviate stress.. No need to off the little guy until he's done, as there is a good chance he can pull out of it if you caught it early enough..
