So I am not new to fish keeping. Actually I am quite experienced and I realize this setup is out of the norm, however I did a lot of research and I think it is feasible. Just wondering what others in the hobby will say and if anyone has ever tried a similar setup. So here it goes:
It is an outdoor pond in San Diego, Ca. So the temps never get too cold. I did goldfish and koi for a while (I know it is too small for koi and I had a place for them to go when they outgrew the pond). Since I have added a few Eheim Jager 300 watt heaters and have them set at 73F. Right now my pond is still around 78F all by itself...gotta love warm weather
I got all small fish to see if they would get along better if they grow up together. I realize I may have to move one or more later on.
- 4" Pink Giant gourami
- 3" Gold Jack Dempsey
- 2" Green Terror
- 2" Texas
- 4" Royal pleco (I have driftwood in the pond)
- 5 comet goldfish that I kept (3-5") right now, they are good dither fish while the others are so small.
