Yes I know but maybe when you mist there could be bad stuff or exutates from the leafs, you never know

The leaves are dried up and dead, therefore no secretions are made available because it lacks the support internally from the tree or limbs themselves.

I dont know of anyone working with a viable 1.1 pair. The only place hatching them consistently is the bronx zoo.

Unfortunately importation of varanus mertensi into the US is prohibited .......if you can find a loop let me know as I have tried already.
