You can always come in winter! :D but I can't assure you it's like an Alaskan winter lol, and don't worry about your daughter, I first traveled when I was 3 and again when I was 4, 6 and so on, and I enjoyed it although I can't remember much.

Sure, join akskirmish and come over, I'll be your tour guide :D
It's amazing how much a little country has to offer, though tourism isn't big business here which is why the best way to get around to all the best places is meeting the local people and getting your guidance from them.

I actually like taking tours from the local people and experiencing the culture first hand a lot better than any other tour. From the description of your house I'm pretty sure you could accomodate a few people. I'd love to see the mudskippers over there!

The architecture looks awesome!

i love that last pic, it looks amazing over there! could you get anymore shots?

Yes, indeed! :) and yeah we have lots of mudskippers!!!
also at the end of winter we get a lot of migrating birds including flamingos, it gets really pretty. I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
I will get more pics of architecture because my parents are planning to build an old looking Arabic (Kuwaiti to be more specific) house in our farm in northern Saudi Arabia, it'll be awesome! :headbang2

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. :D
I am planning to take more pics and focus on the culture and houses.

I now know what time to visit...... winter (even though I hate flamingos now)!!!! The new house sounds like it'll be amazing! I love the way "classic" arabic architecture looks. Is it going to be tiled?

Yeah, winter is the best time to visit to also avoid sun strokes. :D
It will be I'm sure, though I think you got a bit mixed up, tiled houses are north african and "greater syria" (syria, jordan, lebanon... etc, you get the picture) but here in the other arab countries (iraq and everything below it) houses' are traditionally made out of mud and other clay-like materials only with little or no tiles at all.
