Random pics from today

I'm with Jon on this one. Guns kill more people in the hands of irresponsible owners each year than venomous snakes yet they are more socially exceptable. That being said, I think assault rifles and automatic handguns should be sold for $100.

you know what, lets just go back to checking out his pics. This thread was not meant for this I realized and I think some other threads are indeed on this topic. Unless Snakeguy wants it to go this route. Good luck.

yeah we do got threads on this very topic.

i like the snake in the last pic.

Thanks for getting back on topic but I feel I need to add a little more too.

I understand where you are coming from Jonk but at the same time, there is nothing stopping those same idiots that buy a rattlesnake at a show for under a $100 from going out and catching their own for FREE (how I got most of my venomous snakes). That means that all the bad press that comes from a venomous snake would STILL happen without a dime exchanging hands. So if we use your logic that raising the prices would eliminate most bad owners, we would have to charge a lot of $$$ for WC snakes.

All I am saying is that raising the prices would not do a * thing other than prevent people like me and you from getting some and it does annoy me that people claim that price has everything to do with how a snake is treated and cared for.

sorry. All done. Again, thanks for the comments on the pics and all the support. I think it is best to let the thread die now. It has served it purpose....

Chris, your still missing the point that Jon was trying to convey. Nothing is going to stop some random person from obtaining a native WC venomous snake that they are not prepared for but then again, you can't just go out and catch a WC cobra here in the states. People get tagged by native venomous snakes all the time but they rarely make the tabloids. It's whenever someone gets bitten by an exotic snake that people go into an uproar. Bites by native species can always be associated by the wrong place, wrong time scenario; this does not apply to exotics. Price doesn't dictate ability to care for an animal or the responsibility associated with it, period; all it does is make it easy to obtain.

How about this: powder cocaine is a dangerous drug but it is expensive so the price keeps it out of the hands of most people. On the other hand, crack cocaine is a lot cheaper but even more dangerous yet it is available to more people because it's not as expensive.
