Then try this. Instead of shooting the tank head on, try angling the camera to the glass, the angle will diffuse the reflection of the flash. I've taken some shots with flash less than 6" from the glass that way and got no reflection. Such as the shot below I took yesterday. This was holding the camera at about a 45 degree angle, probably 4" from the glass.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. Hopefully my better camera will turn up soon. I know my 2 year old is behind it's disappearance. :shakehead She's at that stage where nothing is safe. It's nothing fancy, jsat a cannon powershot 6mp, but it beats the crap out of the one I'm using. A 4-5 year old Sony Cybershot 3mp with no zoom.
