here in canada, we usually have the untensils wrapped in a napkin with a paper band holding it together. I usually just pull the fork from the napkin and leave everything else inside unless i need it, but nothing touches the table. If i need a napkin I usually get another.
Side note: I have been disgusted with a particular fastfood/coffee place close to my work once tho. They make sandwhiches where you can see them, and i have seen them make sandwhiches bring them to the drive through handle money, then go back to making sandwhiches without changeing the gloves. HELLO THEY ARE THERE TO KEEP THE FOOD CLEAN NOT YOUR HANDS! Though how many times do you eat something without washing your hands? I don't mean full meals but even just some candy or whatever. That can be kind of gross too.
