i hear jacks are actually quite mean and have the biggest teeth for it's body size of any dog?

They are just like any other dog. They will defend their owners, and are capable of being mean if they are raised improperly. My brothers dog is very friendly, and so is Levi's Jack Russell. They are really great dogs.
