Yo BRO, how did your buddy make those bichirs cruising?
CDM, buddy says that his bichirs always get excited and start swimming around like crazy, everytime he comes up to the tank... says they are very active, probably got this way by associating his presence to feeding time. Their diet consists of floating pellets, sinking pellets, fd krill, raw shrimp, earthworms, superworms, and crickets. But are fed floating pellets most of the time, since they come up to the top and feed.

He actually sent me a video of the tank... I will post up soon so you can see just how active his bichirs are. He is planning to add more endlys to the tank. :) How is the bichir activity rate in your tank btw, CDM?

Feeding time.... that maybe the big difference the situation between your buddy's tank and my tank. I feed them one time a week with dumping many feederfishes which can last 3~4 days. I'm not a symbol of "feeding time". As the consequence, my bichirs are lazy, they just sit there and wait till some feederfishes pass by then they take the shot (infact, those are not 100% successful shots). As for the active rate of the lower jaw extruded bichir species, the weeksii (if included) is the most active one, the 2nd would be my older congicus. Some endlicheris cruise around sometime (not for gasping air), while the least active species would be the lapradei. Other smaller species in another tank are all active can't rate which is more active.
