Interesting. Are they anything to be concerned about?

not at all! They are beneficial for your tank. Part of the "live rock" and "live sand".

Feed your tank and watch closely. They will trap small pieces and drag them back to their little "cave". I have thousands in my tank!

PS. The link I provided earlier has a TON of information about live rock hitchikers....

A little off the orginal topic but I picked my tank up as an established tank. I do not know the history of the live rock (how long it's been since harvested, treatments, etc). I know I see bristleworms in one of the rock - maybe two.. but not so much for the others. Certainly no speghetti worms. It is possible that my live rock isn't as alive as one would wish and needs replacing? I'd like to think it's serving a greater purpose that something for algae and aiptasia to grow off of (grumble)..

You could grab a few new chunks and in time the little critters would put on the barry white jams and re-inhabit the old rocks after awhile.

And thanks for the info! Glad it is benificial, it looked like it was to me, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't need to be trying to killem!

I hate these things.

I have them, at one point they took over my tank.

Then there was a die-off, and I am okay with where they are at now.

Seems like that is what happens every time you get something new in a tank.

I wouldnt worry about it, like it is said, they are detritus eaters, you will notice sort of a pile-up of waste around them though, especially as they get large.
