Can you post your tank water test results for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate please?

First off dont even try feeding him... keep lights off for most part and do double or triple the water changes... make sure the water temp is as close as possible when doing the water changes... just ride it out... may try salt... but just minimum no dips or anything like that... all I could suggest... hate using meds myself

Hi I wasn’t feeding him during all this. He is finally showing signs of improvement and starting to act normal again after him being sick for a couple weeks now. I did stop using any meds and as soon as I did that it seems to have helped so I do agree with you about using medications. I’ve had fish for 10 years now and had never had any problems with any sickness and the two years I’ve had this striped raphael I’ve seen him get sick twice now but nobody else in my main tank not even my spotted raphael who I’ve had for about 6 years now. So I’m beginning to think that the striped one is very sensitive to everything. But thanks for your input it’s very much appreciated.

I wouldn’t hold your breath too long waiting for a response given op hasn’t been on for a bit over 7 months. It might be best to make a new thread and @ the catfish gurus and the disease/medicine gurus as well. I certainly didn’t see any of the catfish gurus posting here so it’s possible they may have dealt with this before with their own catfish and they can help you out. If not the medicine gurus can help you out like they did in this thread.
