i want to move my raphael catfish to my 55g but im not sure if he can survive with a jack dempsey, an oscar, and redhump eartheater.

my dempsey is nice and doesn't attack the oscar but the oscar seems to chase him off.
do you think he can live in there? hes the same size as the oscar and dempsey, but im just worried about the dempsey killing it once it gets older.

i dont think the raphael would give your other fish any problems. but im not sure about the other fish giving him problems.

if you still have your other tank set up, you can always move him back as well.

yeah thats what i'm worried about. i might just move him since they're nocturnal anyways.
are there any armored cats that aren't nocturnal that i can put in there?

Should be no bother with the catfish but maybe the O and the JD will not be happy co-habiting as they grow more in the 55. You will maybe get away with it if there is hiding spaces but i guess that one of these (O / JD ) will have to be compromised.

I had a rapheal with a jd, 2 oscars, and a jewel and it did just fine. now its with a jd and a shoal of clown loaches and its healthy as ever

As long as he has a cave or some sort of shelter he should be ok. I had one w/2 O's, Texas, Fla. Gar, convicts and larger wood cat. He hid a lot, but lived for many years.

Give it a try, bottom dwellers are usually left alone.

my raphael lives with my 12 inch red devil and large african cichlid with no problems... but he does have a nice cave to call home... which offers him protection and comfort..
