my parameters are listed, do you see a problem with any of the parameters. Cause I don't. And I'm not bashing him, just asking if anyone else has had any problems.

Your ph is slightly high for my liking. Something that is more of a fact would be your nitrates being 40ppm, this not expectable and especially for baby cichla. It would not tolerate anything over 10-15 ppm in general.. You need to do more or larger water changes.

Keep in mind that with a high PH, and high temps... ammonia, and nitrate become alot more toxic to fish.
Welcome to raising young cichla. I lost a few rio metas and a young rio negro orino, that one hurt, since they were NOT cheap. Small cichla have a high mortality rate, just part of the game. Your water seems fine, looks like you just got dealt a crappy hand
Jimmie, I have had quick losses like that. usually when your not looking something is pounding the snot out of them. Egg crate. Block off a section of the tank for the newbies so they have a chance to get strong before competing. All my newbies, especially small bass are left alone to adapt to my water and to get eating. I was just at Rapps and all his brokos are happy and eating.
they've been divided. 4 guyana's 2" and 2 broko's 3.5-4". My orinos would beat the hell out of them if I didn't. I'm not blaming Jeff at all, was just wondering if anyone else had problems. Like Jcardona1 said, just got dealt a weak 2. I did a 40% water change last night, just replaced the salt alittle, and left it at that. Now, I'm just waiting for todays arrivals. I wouldn't bash the distributor that has always sent me top quality fish, I was just pissed that $180 got wasted within 5 days, and having to put out another.
