He's 16" thick?

No bro I can see your confusion, I was referring to the Midas that this thread is about. To me the fish pictured looks like a female midas at 5" pertaining to its narrow head shape and no knochal hump present. So I was shocked to hear it was both male and 9-10" in length. I've personally have never seen a male midas f1 or not thats this big(10") that looks this under-developed. I would still like to see a pic of a full shot of the side view of this fish. Its a beautiful fish and it has nice coloration so i'm in no way trying to knock it just odd from what I've seen in the 5yrs. I've been in this hobby.

Chill...Go back and read what I typed. I didn't say anything about your fish. I was simply stating a fact, wild fish eat less and are more active than captive raised fish, and therefore are not as bulky.

Congrats on getting a nice midas, post some photos up when you can. Though you seem a little hostile maybe because I wouldn't sell my creamsicle to you?

No modest not at all, he's a great fish and its clear why you would wan't to keep him. He's in very good hands so I'm glad to be able to see his progress in the coming months. I really lucked out on the male I have now so not getting yours worked out better for me.

I've never seen a non-hybrid pure midas have red eyes. Interesting fish. Did Jeff say it was F0 or give any other info on the fish other then Black/orange morph because usually all midas have black on them when they are young that eventually fades out. Please keep us updated on his progress, i'm interested to see how he grows out.

Update: He's F1 stock, I would have loved to see his parents. He should turn into a gorgeous fish Congrats....By the way Jeff has them labeled as Orange Head midas..

Hi guys,

I've it a few times, whats an F1, F0 fish stock btw?
