Rare Cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The only wild morphs I've been able to find have been in Canada and Australia.

100x better looking than the pink/red morph.

correct me if im wrong but, doesn't the pink morph of P. splendida occur in the wild along with the mottled form?

these are the rare/semi rare cichlids in my area that im planning to get:
Chuco intermedia
Oreochromis tanganicae
Astronotus orbicularis
Hemichromis frempongi
Crenicichla sp. Xingu I
Etroplus suratensis
Heros sp. "rotkiel"
Paretroplus maculatus
Mesonauta insignis
Cichla temensis

Any CS/SA all anyone stocks here is African, any thing else I want I have to order on line or go for a road trip to another province (only 2 places on the Island carry fish period)

It took me a long time to finally get my hands on a Black Nasty. No local LFS new where to order them from, I eventually found and purchased some from Fish Farm (vendor here). Don't usually see any rare stuff around here, except for the very rare trade-in.

at the local lfs any cichlid is rare except for oscars and angels and the occasional JD or kribs
No, the two closest LFS near me stock more than that. I've seen viejas, mayan, festaes, pikes, RD/midas, grammodes, salvinis, texas, jags, freddy, dovii, severum, loiselleis, geos, pbass, spiny cichlid, and others. But some to these fish don't show up as often.

Umbee and top grade flowerhorns are very rare in my area.
