Rare Fish Accidentally Ordered By Petsmart?

The other day i was in petsmart and in with the usual senegals was an ALBINO senegal bichir! They said it was an accident and was half price. 4$. It was tiny 2" so i did not get it but pretty good deal. I also have seen a clown knife at petsmart in timonium once... And a channel catfish in woth columbian sharks on several occasions. And last but not least, an EBJD (electric blue jack dempsey) in with the normals which i purchased for 5.99
So, tell me what weird,odd,cool, not usually sold by petsmart OR any other pet or fish store things YOU have seen! I think that this thread can get pretty interesting!

My petsmart had jags at one point, it's where I got my boy from. That's about as interesting as it get besides my unknown mutt thing I got from there

albino senegals are actually extremely common in any kinds of petstores. They are bred by the thousands. i've seen them sold in the most basic and mainstream petstores. That's where I got my first one.

The only "rare" species of fish I consider in petsmart and such are wild caught fish of any kind.
 
Albino Senegal bichirs are not that rare, they're just common.
 
I have an angelfish anomally I purchased from Petco. It's a blue eyed freshwater gold. Not sure of the gender yet, it's between a quarter & half dollar size. I thought it was a platinum at first, but then it began to show the beautiful gold shimmer on the frontal body & orange checkered dorsal. It's beautiful. Was a tiny little dime size, if that, when I first got it. I try to check each time I go by Petco. They often times have a cichlid variety tank and sometimes get some neat ones. I bought an elephant nose there as well, but that was a special order. I am really crazy about that guy by the way!! Very smart, beautiful and utterly amazing creature!! Petsmart does indeed have an awesome variety of fish...I got a Raphael Catfish there, although I don't often see him, he is a beauty and two Bumblebee Catfish. I believe one was Asian..haven't seen him lately..and an African who is growing fast. I've learned the hard way with both these suppliers and am in process of setting up a quarantine tank. Which I would STRONGLY advise that EVERYONE should have!!
 
I know when I was little, the petsmart by my house used to get in all sorts of oddball fish and I would always get them such as elephant noses, fire eels, clown knives, ropefish, etc. They also used to carry rubber eels all the time. I really want a few now but I hear they're illegal to import now I guess? But so far the craziest fish I've found at one was the very first payara I ever owned. They had no idea what it was and neither did I at the time but I had to have it and since they didn't have a sku for it, they just gave it to me as some type of tetra for around $7.

Very common to see albino senegals. Especially at that size.

once petshop owner scooperd up some tetras for me, but he accidently netted a rare corydora four years ago. still have him to this day, shes about four inches. MONSTER cory
