Rare fish for 2.5 gallon?!

Some freshwater shrimp can be a great breeding project--some of the fancier ones go for hundreds of dollars (believe it or not).

Amazing! I wonder who in the heck is buying them & the how much of a market there is?..
There must be a reason for those prices, some kind of difficulty to the process.

the difficulty is all the selective breeding to make a number of recessive genes apparent

You are very limited in those tanks. Even no they are not rare you could try to breed fancy guppies. they could go for an okay profit.

I would say native darters, like rainbow darters they aren't too rare but quite uncommon in aquariums, plus they have amazing colours.
