not that there is one that's not a true kelberi, just some have more spotting, and some have less.

Yea, I think with the Kelberi specie there are several variants depending on the collecting point.

The one you pictured. Your buddy got that locally yes? I believe it was from the same batch as my avatar boy

I am looking to buy a nice specimen of Hoplias aimara or Hoplias ssp . I can not use H.malabaricus for it is illegal in Califronia.

This fish I would consider ones of the rarest puffers in the hobby and rarely ever seen, and absolutely gorgeous, I don't care what you say!!!
