LOL, yeah im sure its some kind of national "kill whatever you catch" policy.
It was caught by fisherman, not fishkeepers, also when it says "rare fish" im pretty sure its not referring to it being hardy.
Just thought that was a pretty ignorant statement towards a country as a whole because a "rare" shark died being caught by a few japanese fishermen.
Pretty sure if it were you or I who had netted it the outcome would be the same.
if it was caught alive, it should have been released alive. not put on display for the public to gawk at and be all stressed out. it is a rare fish and should have never been taken out of the ocean. even if it was dieing(which you cant tell for shure) it wasnt dead yet and one rare fish removed from the wild can potentially hurt the overall population of these awesome fish. it has nothing to due with race or fishing but how screwed up humanity is as a whole.
