b/c he's trying to make a dime. the only pseudacanthicus that's worth that much IMO is a Scarlet. I sold a L600 for $150 that was this big or bigger.

2-3inchers around my way went for like $80 last I've seen them and that was a year or more ago. I did buy one then, and it is probably around 5inches give or take now. I think its a good deal. I don't think I've ever seen one this big...period. So whether its a "scarlett" or not, it is still rare at that size so, IMO, well worth the $200 (or more) he's asking. The Scarlett you sold for $150 was definitely worth more than $150, IMO. But you sold it for what you wanted to sell it for...just like people will buy this fish if they think its worth it, no matter the cost.

BUMP!

Actually Koop, the price on these fish have skyrocketed since I bought the L-600 from you. The second L-600 I purchased just a couple months ago was comparable to the OP's price. And you give good deals;).

Price drop 200
If I only had more tank space. It would go good with the 10" and 11"er I already have.

I was the one to buy his fish. And it was worth every penny. 2-3" for $80 seems a little steep though IMO.

To potential buyers: be aware like the original poster said, this pleco can hold its own. A bit territorial and is carnivorous. The longer you have them and the more comfortable they become in the tank, the less nocturnal they become and will hang out in the open. Although a pleco at this size does'nt hide easily anyway.

thanks peepz i knew i wasnt overpricing my fish. ive been collecting fancy plecos now for 5 yrs and i know how prices for them can flunctuate or double or triple in cost. Nearest LFS is That Fish Place in lancaster and they use to sell gold nugs for 17 bucks now they are 40 bucks. Size and area reflect prices also its rarity at that time. Im pretty confident the price i paid for him and the price im selling for him is fair. unfortunately he is way too big for my 74 gallon. Im also willin to trade for a small scarlet if anyone is interested

Sold my Titans L273 (3) at 6" for 150 each. If original OP is asking a price and someone is willing to pay it, well that is there business.

With that being said it appears to me to be an L114, JMO.

There are a handful of species that carry the cactus name attached to them, in my opinion the true one is a very close relative of the one posted - but has a bunch of small spines across the face.

I agree on the L114 call. Still a beauty of a pleco!

what is the common name for L114. do i have mine mis labeled

No that is one of the common names used for both of (L114 and L600) them. They are sometimes
mixed up with L600s which is banned for export and gets larger and has subtle differences.
I believe they (L114) were the only ones not banned for export out of Brazil, and one of the more
readily bred Pseudacanthicus in captivity.
An lfs near me got in about 25-30 2-3 inchers about a 2 months ago and were
selling them for 30 bucks.
