So my F1 Bahia redtails spawned in my pond and have roughly 20 eggs left. They are defending the eggs fiercely. I wondered why they have been holding down that spot next to the tropical lily pad. I wish i had put a piece of slate in there for them to lay on but i didnt get around to it yet so they laid them on the bottom of the pond. I guess ill just let nature take its course with this spawn and after the eggs hatch or are gone i will throw a piece of slate in there for them to lay on so i can remove the eggs next time. Its awesome to watch them fend off the azul pbass and the 18" flower ray. I thought for sure the flower wouldnt let them push him around but they sure are. Im happier than a fat kid in a candy shop right now. Just knowing they are comfortable enough to spawn makes me feel really good. :headbang2

Well i went to take pics of the eggs with my sisters iphone and they are already gone so i guess tomorrow i go buy a nice big piece of slate and give them something good to spawn on that i can remove and care for the eggs myself.

Where is a place to get methylene blue? Ive never used it before, ive always had species only tanks and let them hatch their own eggs. (nvm google is a beautiful thing)

Ill try and get some tomorrow. I need pics of the azuls, and the flower ray as well for my other threads. Im going to try and get a camera i can use underwater since they are all in a pond.

I just went down to do the morning feeding and the female is sitting on top of another batch of eggs, they must have spawned again during the night... These two are spawning machines.
