These pikes were puchased @ the beginning of July from Jeff Rapps as Crenicichla marmorata. MFK member Pfalcon has posted on his "Mystery Pikes" numerous times; these pikes are from that same shipment. Much speculation has been made as to what species they are...marmorata, strigata (true), and Xingu II. I believe that these fish are actually Xingu II (which is extremely rare in the hobby). I have a group of five which are very active and healthy. They are pellet-trained and will eat any dry food offered (their gusto for live food goes without mention). They are approx 6" total length and in essentially flawless shape. They are $50 each or less for purchase of multiple fish.
