We'll i've been wan'ting to breed some rarer Amphilophus mainly Lynosi but it seems theres some other possibly avalible

So which would you breed and mabye state why don't have to though

The Amphilophus are Lynosi , Nourisatti , Altifron

Also could any one give me the aggression levels on these guys ?

buy my 4x 4" LYONSI.

Until about a week ago I had saggitae, lyonsi, and midas all in a 100gallon growing out. They were all about the same tempermet but I'd rank the midas the least aggressive. The saggitae and lyonsi were pretty close. The lyonsi are pretty vicious but don't stir up a lot of trouble. As for the saggitae.. They're always down for a good fight. I only lost 1 fish and I let about 4-5 of each species get to 4" in this 100gallon tank and only lost 1 lyonsi. Don't know why though, but I know it wasn't from sickness. I think it was my beast saggitae.

You're going to want to buy your amphilophus from tiny28 on aquabid for sure, he carries a lot of amphilophus.. Thats where I got all of mine from. Rapps only carries the ugly white morf of saggitae too.

Heres my saggitae

and if you were wondering, I like the saggitae better thats why the lyonsi are for sale.

Huhh thought Saggite looked alot different thought they had stripes or barrs all the pics of them i've seen did at least don't know if i can find Saggite though

But yeah i might be doing a group order with A fellow Colorado member and hes doing it with Tiny28 i think

Where did you get your Sagittae? and what size are they?

Also any info on max sizes hopeing to keep them in a 55 but might be able to upgrade in the future

Most Amphilophus including Sagittae only develop bold barring when theyre sexually mature. This is why they are so hard to identify at a small size, cuz Sagittae, Xilloensis, Barred Citrinellum, Zalliosis, Chancho's and Hoogaboomorum all look almost identical when small.

Camphilophus, i may be wrong but yours look like Xilloensis mate, or even Hoogaboomorum with the reddish tint in the fins. I kept Sagittae a few years ago and they were more elongated.

Hmm makes me wounder if theres any thing other then midas and red devils at Petsmart dought it but once it a while i see an odd Ampihlophus mixed in there most likely a barred midas though

no no no no no.. They are f1' saggitaes from tiny28. The lyonsi is 4" that saggitae is pushing 6". Hes a beast, hes outgrown the other saggitae, theres a 5" one and my other 3 are between 3-4" (hopefully females) wouldn't it be nice to have 2 breeding pairs of these beasts..?

I'll post some more pictures of them in a second.

those saggittae are f1 from a private breeder who i know very well here in michigan, ill try to post a pic of the wild father. i dont have anymore of those instock right now thou. i do have a few lyonsi left thou that are starting to show some nice colors.
