Rarest Monster Fish?

Channa Barca. Only 6-7 know in captivity. Very rare in the wild. A pair for sale in the UK for £5000. about $9000 i think.
Living fossil fish.... South Africa..dunno how much it would cost to import some ova here...

The highest paid Aquarium fish was an Red Asian Aro..? Following by Flowerhorns..
Rarest Fish? Now that is a toss up!! Don't forget about all the coldwater, deepwater, and other crazy fish, as well as fish that aren't able to live in captivity!
Anything that has been selectively bred to bring out coloration or pattern, IMO, should be thrown out the window. So that would mean you would have to get rid of all the oriental color morphs, and narrow it down to wild-caught Aquaria fish.
The hairy-puffer T. Borleyi (sp) that Rare Aqua got in recently, is VERY VERY Rare. Also, C. Psittacus from South America is a VERY rare FW puffer. I also like the impressive Leopoldi morphs, they are awesome! T. Pustulatus is another gorgeous puffer, you might recognize it as the red spotted puffer from the MFK ads in TFH.
