Yes that is turkeyboy's old marble, interesting that she didn't have marbling till she got big, I did not know that. Of the others I have had only one got big, around 18-19", but none where as big as that girl.

I agree with you though on the size thing.... I think you should prepare for the worst and hope for the best, but be able to house them either way.

I have seen the question over and over again about marbles, while I agree typically they stay small some do get large, I hate to see people buying marbles assuming they are going to stay small.

I'm not even kidding..... Anybody on this site would have called her a plain Motoro till she hit 15-16". I'd have to dig but I thought it was Rich (VLDesign) that Turkey got her from. She developed Marbling while with him.

I'm a huge fan of Marbles. Been keeping them a long time, but have also been watching others keep them for a long time. I don't need to argue about size, I've kept enough of them long enough, and have been in touch with several others that have the same love for this species that I do, and while I will NEVER consider myself an "expert" on them I will consider myself "experienced" with them.

Now IF me and all the other Marble geeks out there are improperly housing thier rays, and "stunting" them then the easiest solution to this arguement is for someone that knows what they're doing to prove us wrong. Grow one up for us and shut down the "midget Marble" movement.

I've been waiting years to be proven wrong, and if someone doesn't do it soon I might actually start to think that maybe I could almost possibly be right. Now we all know that's the last thing we want to see happen, so someone set me straight and show me the pics of even one single huge top shelf Marble.

How bout I just bump up an old Marble size thread so we can ruin that one instead of derailing this one.

Db for one I can guarantee your old marble from the 180 gallo that was 19" would have got alot bigger quicker in a big tank. I kept a motoro in a 75 gallon for 3 years beleive me once I moved him in a bigger tank he sprouted quick. When they get stunted I think they still have the ability to grow afterwards not like other fish I've also stunted.
And beleive me I don't think any of our tanks are big enough for rays. My tanks 4 feet at widest points. I've got a Tanks and a pond Ive been building or buying something new every year for more space. But your out of your mind about the sizes ,you have no idea and it's clearly obvious . Go on Richard ross website. I've had many conversations with him about falkneri. He has pictures for you to buddie. His female is almost 3 feet and I'd bet she weights alot.
And just to let you know theirs more than one species of motoro

someone on here had a constellata, they loooks frkin awesome!
