Rasbora mass suicide HELP!

I have an open top 30 gal tall that has been planted for a little over two months now, and yesterday 5 of my 15 rasboras jumped ship. Very odd to me. I woke up this morning to find another 5 did the same thing. I keep floating plants in to help discourage jumping and for aesthetics. My water parameters a great. Also I haven't started doing anything different either. Just wanted to know what the heck is going on?

Is it possible your heater is leaking charges? I have heard that can cause fish to do things like this.

Don't think so it's a new heater. It's odd too because other species in the tank are just fine.

had a similar thing happen with guppies... ended up my cat at night was spooking the fish by swatting at the tank.

Definitely could be whats happening. My kitty is a handful.

My cat once yanked out the return tube for my canister filter while I was at work - came home and there was only 3 inches of water left in my 55 gallon...

What about the 50 gallons on the floor!!

I've had rasboras doing this too, maybe they're just a jumpy fish?

Don't mean to derail, but the water leaked down into the neighbor's apartment.....Luckily it didn't do any serious damage..

Man u always need a cover on a tank!!

Id say kitty or stray ac current either way this couldve been prevented! Sorry for ur loss tho
