i'll have to agree with everyone else. my oscar pair are able to push a decent size river rock across my aquarium lol

I like what you have in mind and the filtration but im wondering why so much? i mean sure you can never hav to much, plants can get messy if they die and stuff, and oscars are messy eaters. but are you planning on getting more than just the 1 oscar?

Never underestimate the destructive drive of an oscar. I'd go with your plan of the mini monsters.

looks like you pickup a mondo grass plant on the left side behind the pot. Its not a aquatic plant and will eventually rot and die so I would transplant it outside or trash it.

Stupid petco, selling terrestial crap in the aquarium section. it pisses me off when they get these non aquatic plants and classify them as "rare".

made same mistake try ordering plants from aquaticplantdepot.com there prices are cheap and have good review instead of a big chain store.

yah .. also agreeing with everyone about the oscar .. i have a 5 inch oscar in one tank .. moves smaller stuff around but nothing major. i have a 10" tiger in the other tank .. as soon as he got big it was brutal .. he has destroyed the tank. ripped apart the driftwood i had in there. tore branches off and moved them to the other side of the tank. shifted the whole rock pile i had descending from one corner all over the place and stacks all my sand up in the middle of the tank so he can navigate easily between everything. and everytime i fix something it neverrr lasts through the night. he moves it back to exactly where he put it the first time
