Here's my female . This picture is almost a year old. She is around 11 inches long and really thick. She is 5 years old

Woah that's a crazy color change from 7 to 9 inches it looks sweet!!!!! I'm looking forward for mine to look like that! How fast did she grow and how aggressive is she

Thanks..,.the color varys based on her situation of prespawning and post spawn fry care..good food and clean environment keeps colors sharp... she has not been the fastest grower...I bought her at about 2 inches over 2 years ago... compared to a female offspring of hers that went from egg to 8 inches in less than 9 months..... mine got off to a slow start by not being a good eater (is a great eater now)she is fairly aggressive....at times have kept her as a pair with my male but have mainly kept divided tanks or solo...as I said in the other post yours looks just like mine at that size and I think it could look at least as good if not better as she qrows.....

My female is so docile unless someone is trying to mess with her or if any other fish are fighting she sort of regulates them . When I purchased her she was around the 3 inch mark . She grew considerably slow also. However she is sure putting on the weight the last 6 months.
