alright well I figured I would subject my fish to being being called low grade lol. Either way I think he's badass and that's what counts comment away folks

thats exactly what mine looks like but a bit bigger flowerline with a bit more flowering.I'm told mine is a "B-grade" female,yours looks to be the same IMO

i'd say it's male. and decent quality, keep us updated on how it grows and looks IMO you really cannot "rate" it personally till its just about mature.

From my understanding grades range from AA-D, a AA FH is one with a pronounced hump& dark lateral markings from head to tail,follwed by grade A, a B grade would be one with lat.markings only covering half of its body H-T,or T-H.follwed by grade C, and a D grade would be one with little to no lateral patterns. the grades come into play because chinese folklore says the markings can represent words or numbers within the chinese language, and owners of FH have struck it rich playing lottos using the "numbers" they see on their fish. And the bigger the hump the more prosperity the owner of FH's will experience. hope this helps answer your ?
