I see the pic now. Lots of red and thats a good sign. This is a pic of my buddies FH that looked alot like yours at that size.

negative. never combine flowerhorns with oscars. both are cichlids and have territorial tendencies. keeping them together inside a tank without dividers would mean disaster to any or both fish. better keep them on separate tanks

That's strange, I've kept oscars and flowerhorns together before. I think if they have enough room to establish territory they'll be ok. I had them in a 265

I've had Oscars and FH together in the past also but they where not adults. They where like 6" each in a 90 gal.

well, thats an exemption. i have seen set ups in which flowerhorns are combined with other fishes. i have even seen flowerhorns combined with datnoids and they seem to be doing well. in a large tank like yours, that combination might work but personally, i wont risk it. i love my fish and i wont put them at risk to damages

he/she is tooo small to be rated and as rallysman says it all comes down to whether you like the fish or not

i dont see the rationale of rating a fish. the fact that you bought it should be enough proof that you like the FH. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and what may be beautiful for you may not look great to others. what other people say is not of prime importance. in the end, it all boils down to whether you are enjoying your pet or not

Just got this little guy(or girl).
Please tell me what you think of it. Its very young but still looks pretty nice. Also, how fast do flowerhorns grow? The pic is a little blurry. It makes the flowerhorn look a little beat up.
I would say your fish will turn out awesome. This is a pick of my fish before and after it grew. Yours has way more color than mind did at that size.

Don't worry about the ratings. Get what you like not what other people like. I was told my fh in my avatar was garbage but I absolutely love him and supposibly we get the "garbage" from overseas. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I say you got a good looking fish at a damn good price cuz something like that by me, the cheapest I've seen for a fh like yours was $70. And as for keeping the fh with an oscar. I keep a 9" male red dragon with a 4-5" zz, 4-5" red texas, and a 2-3" convict (gf didnt want the convict so I took it). I agree that they can be territorial but with proper hiding places and supervision for some time will increase the chances for survival for both with little or no injury. Good luck!

thanks

People thought your avatar was ugly? Cuz it looks stunning.
