Thank you, the drift wood is called mopani. Its heavy enough to sink without soaking and I never had a problem with tannins turning the water brown. it's great stuff.

Very nice! Prop one end of your DW up with your rock. You can still have your rock and will flow better visually.

Haha the rocks not really that special lol. Plus the fish like to duck in and out of the gaps behind the DW so I better keep that space open.

I just read that again. I get what you're saying now, you want me to prop one end ON TOP of the rock. Your right, that will actually create more space under the wood. Just to clairify I really just wanted to use the rock because I picked it up on a day hike because it was so green I thought: that would be cool to have all the rocks in my aquarium be green rocks from the top of a 14,000' mountain (or 14er as we call them here). So I carried this rock all the way back in my pack. I know its dumb, thats why it was more of a private joke. untill now.
