Rate the set up

The Oscar is 10 cm (4 inches), the birchir is 14 cm (5 inches). The tank is 120 cm (4ft) around 235L (60 gal). Just wanting advice and honest opinions for a junior fish keeper

You have a very nice clean and clear set up there. I like it a lot! Maybe a taller piece of driftwood that extends a little into the mid space or even upper regions that you position a little towards the back of the tank would add to the overall perception and also give the fish a little more places to hide, at least while they are young.

Welcome aboard.
The setup looks great but you will have to upgrade aquarium due to the Oscar. Also observe during feeding Oscar may eat all of food the slower Senegal bichir .

Yeah true.
I feed the Oscar during the day and the birchir late at night so that helps
