I have not a tank to post but a comment on the above

Your lighting is way to overpowered imho. I would think you could still have plants and have a more subdued lighting or a change to a darker substrate. I read somewhere that to much light is a bad thing for a fish tank as the fish in their natural environment are not under a mega watt light

its actually is not that bright I took the picture with slow shutter so I didnt have to use the flash in turn my camera flared against the white substrate if you look it looks as if the sand is radiating light
 
DPK I give it a 8 because of the background and perhaps some of the placement of equipment but I bet with a black background you would not notice the equipment. I love the fish and lighting personally and its an awesome tank !

The cichlid was a temporary move he is in another tank now.

its a 55 gallon with 5 boseman rainbows a breeding pair of angels and 1 pictus cat in the photo but 4 currently. There are also some growing molly and platy fry hiding out.
