Rats, Got a leak...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All right folks; she's all stripped out and cleaned up. Being late with no stores except Wal-mart being open, plus the fact I am impatient, leaves me to scrounge through what supplies I have on hand. I forgot I had bought a product called Aquamend from Home Depot a few days ago and I am debating using it prior to re-applying the silicone. It's an epoxy putty stick that can be applied even underwater and will bond to f-glass, wood, metal, concrete, ceramic, glass, and various plastics. So it says. Anyone familiar with this stuff? It seems like it may do the trick...

I've used it in several places including a pond, boat, and swimming pool. Worked great.

Just have to know where the leak is.

Well she's all done; I used the Aquamend and another epoxy putty called PC plumber's putty. It's waterproof and potable water safe; I've used it before on pipes and it works great. All my corners are sealed up now and I may still use silicone after the epoxy cures...

worst thing to do is be impatient when it comes to makin a plywood tank... take ur time and do it right so u dont have to deal with it anymore

She's all filled up; and so far, so good. I took the extra precaution of adding some epoxy putty to that troublesome corner, just to be on the safe side. Now the sump is being constructed... I will have pics of that very shortly in the filtration forum.:D
