raw or cooked food for arowana?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I 've got a 26 inch silver that I feed raw peeled & deveined shrimp. Will accept shell -on shrimp but alot of the time shells end up some how in the tank. Also loves tilapia raw pieces along with Hikari food sticks. Eats no other kind of sticks or pellets. Was surprized when he ate chunks of cucumber one time. You know everybody can use some fiber once & awhile. Ha Ha

300 gallon for now until I build my dream tank
JEALOUS OF YOUR TANK SIZES LEND ME MONEY !!! lol
mines eat the shrimp with the shell! :D

HEY CUCUMBER?? does it like it? i never knew about feeding it that, i seen people feedings it peas. wouldnt it be like hard for them to chew..? i will try tilapia soon.

Nice i got a 250 gallon tank with a arowana a little over 12 inches i got alot of other fishes in there with him and water is really clear i got two magnum 250's with bio wheels and i rarley have to change the water i have the tempeture at 80 i think. The ph and everything stays real stable i barley check it anymore. I feed the arowana shirmp pellets grass hoppers and i use to feed him small fish like feeder fish but i heard thoose are bad so i stopped. Also on a unrelated topic i have 2 blue botia loach and they hide in this big conch shell and i didnt see them for like a whole week i thought my arowana ate them but then one day i saw one of them come out of the shell and he was completley white! Anyways good luck with your arowana.

your tank sounds like my but yours a bigger tank. lol my jardini is about 9 inches i believe. i feed it pretty much the same thing every week. my tank may look VERY clean and clear..but i try to do water changes every 2 weeks to try and siphon my gravels....if i shake it up it comes up all the brown! i'll post a pic
