I've seen threads where people feed their Cichlids shrimp from the market. My question is what's better, raw shrimp or cooked shrimp. Which would be better to feed your fish with???? It has to be similar to feeding them frozen krill from the lfs, right????

raw shrimp is best, its the same reason why raw vegetables are best for us to eat, raw food has more nutrients in it, once a food item is cooked certain compounds are broken down and a lot of the nutrition is lost, not sure about krill from pet store as iv never used it but i would imagine it would be similar only shrimp from the supermarket are much cheaper

Cooked I might eat them, I know my fish like em raw.

+1 this too haha i wouldn't want to waste nice cooked shrimp on my fish id eat it lol, but yeah seriously like jonclark said they wouldn't get cooked food in the wild either, so in addition to being nutritionally inferior they wouldn't be able to digest it as easily either

I use raw shrimp and fish in my food mix for my oscars. I do blanch the chicken livers some to be safe.

Raw for fish, cooked for you.
