ray compatablility

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what i meant was ,if i had rays in a 55 gallon i would want to be doing 30% water changes a day(minimum). but even then with that small amount of water volume in the tank you will get ammonia spikes and ph fluctuations after feeding.
others may have different thoughts but thats my advice.

thanks for your imput. but dont you think 30% daily would be a bit too much?

anyone else want to put in 2 cents?

I completely agree. Your seting yourself up for diaster with a Ray alone in a 55 not to mention your other fish

I agree with every one else. Rays require much more care than one thinks at first, and they require several water changes to keep ammonia down. One must perform wc's daily because rays produce a lot of ammonia constantly.

Depending on what size you get the retic, I kept a retic in a 55gal as a QT tank for him and then to a 180gal. As for feeding, I, fed my pbass and my arow first then dropped down bloodworm for the retic, with no probs. My bass hated blood worms. As for the combo, they will all work out. But make sure you have the tank (210gal) first before you get the ray just in case the plan fall through.
