my rays do this ALL the time .. more so when they are hungry .. my little one try's to get out of the water if i skip a feeding ..

i say ... if they are eating .. and moving .. and the water is clean .. your rays are just being rays

that is what i was thinking but to be safe i posted...i have givin them miysis shrimp, market shrimp lately as i ran out of black and blood worms on sat. i will be getting more tomarrow or wed.

i think you should be fine then he looks good and fattend up. i think he is just feeling more comfortable. mine just started moving around a little bit more lately during the day instead of just the night.

well they mainly walk the bottom and stay buried unless its feeding time or dark then they are all over the place. but lately during the day they are starting to move around some more. also thats the reason i asked if any of the other fish were rubbing since mine came with fish lice.

they do walk more then they "fly" and are more active in the dark but have been more and more brave as of late....i remember the lice on yours, but i think i lucked out...i like how these guys came in though one was suposed to be a female...i think i will get 3 more females though from them...

as for the current i have 750gph on my 55gal that they are in now....that is till my 180 is open...

Very normal if they're swimming mid area, but if its doing backflips, then you might have a problem.

not full on backflips, but more of following the glass up, hit the surface follow that for a little bit then cruse to the other side right side up...

sounds normal to me, where did ray in post 5 come from??? Turning upside down and splashing the surface is normal for a crazy active ray.

post five is my retic that was fling around(the ray in question), he just landed for the pic...the fling motoros are iffrat's...if you were curious as to where i bought it it came from TFD...

ya i asked cause like iffrat said they like to play in bubbles but also some love to swim in the current of a powerhead. and with the fish lice i got motoros from him before that didnt have any. could be with some he has time to treat before he shipped out, but just look closely on your females when you get them just in case. they are very hard to see in the bag.

the reason i ask about ray in post 5 is i do not think it is a retic.

here is another one like it.

THis one that i posted pictures of is crazy and spends more time on the surface of the water than on the bottom.

Please let me know where it came from. :) and did it come as a retic? or a cururu?

it came from TDF and it came as a retic, but they did not have any more females so they subed on out for me...i have other pics in the lounge under "a few pics with my new camera" i added this guy to the other one...it does look diff. from the other one i have...

i will look close...i called a few days ago and they had some females so i think on fri i will order them and hope for the best...by then they should be in good shape...maybe you got yours from a fresh batch, cause mine were some of the last ones in stock at the time...

keepinfish just buy a cururu already lol. you keep talking about them and are always curious i just think that they are selling a retic maybe a red as them. the three i got even the dead one had the same look and same tail. but you never know you might luck out lol.
