She would swim along surface got close then lunge and take them 24" to the bottom and that was it. She dropped to bottom so fast the fish could not get out from under her disk. She was around 10" at the time

My Estrella is a hunter like yours, FishDog, he is not my biggest ray, but by far my most aggressive. I don't feed them feeder fish, but every once in a while it is neat to see them hunt! For being unable to see where the food is once they get it under their disc, they do a good job of trapping it and positioning it head first to eat.
